a few of you may know what i am talking about,i would post a pic, but my desk top just failed and i am stuck using a borrowed laptop (my laptop broke last week ) so no access to pictures.
anway, i think it is a vibration dampener. has anyone ever removed it before? it would probabaly save some weight, would the tranny realy vibrate that much? _________________ 86' firebird (Junked in 2015). 88' GTA (sold in 2020).

That almost looks like where the exhaust bracket is attached. You're missing the piece that is welded on the exhaust tubing just behind the cat. _________________ 92 Camaro

It reminds me of a live performance I witnessed while in Tijuana many years ago.

As wierd as it is, that's stock I do believe. I found the same thing on Steve's old 84 v6 bird years ago. Well, okay... he "found it" by back up over some branches and ripping the sucker off. And yeah, we ditched it. The torque arm mounts to the same bolts, right? I can't remember what we did with those... I know he ripped one of the bolts right out of the case. Thirdgens aren't Steve-proof.
Edit: Uh...Nice purple jackstand... _________________

Does that act at all as a shim for the Torque arm bolts tony?
I'm not sure why we left it when we did the clutch, but I'm all for ripping it out.
If its metal, i'll take it
you also have a PM. _________________

| It'd be like a washer, and as long as the nut tightened down without it your fine. Otherwise put washers there. |
