i need a flywheel for a 2.8 by satarday. if not i'll have to buy a new one.

i broke a bolt off in mine, and stripped out the threads on another one of the pressure plate bolts. i think hynes lied to me on the torque spec.

Ouch. Don't have a spare flywheel man.

Torque on the pressure plate bolts is like 50lb/ft IIRC on a v6

yeah, thats what my manual said. i got em all finger tight, then i got them all wrench tight. then i got the torque wrench and hit them all to 40lb/ft (i was stepping them up slowly you see) and one of them just kept spinning, the next one broke. so i have one stuck bolt (fixable) and one set of ruined threads. time for a new flywheel.

i am going to order one from a shoppe tomorrow, it's be here before next weekend when i can work on the car next. wasted some good money overnighting my spec clutch Rolling Eyes . i'll just drive the T/A everywhere next week. Cool Very Happy

Why don't you just go to the boneyard and get another flywheel Tony? Even if you have to surface it, its still probably cheaper.

meh... if i can't get one i know the history on (ie from a crewbie) i think i would rather just get a new one. they can develop "hotspots" that rise up under use that you can't see when they are cold that can screw with your clutch and make it wear quicker. at least thats what the napa manager told me. ....though that does kinda sound BS ish now that i type it out.

Chris you doing anything tomorrow? wanna help me pull a tranny at the junkyard? Very Happy I'll buy you lunch.

i have Monday off this week as well, so i can get it resurfaced and get the car put back together Monday ::knocking on wood:: and have it ready for the drive to rainer on Tuesday (my job is in rainer on Tuesday)
