Ok guys, need opinions...as im really torn as to which way to go...
Body is in the body shop being blocked and getting ready for primer & paint. I still have not decided if I should paint the engine bay body color or just black. All mopars came from the factory with body color engine bays...but im thinking black will be easier to maintain especially since my car is not really all that factory (hell im using a chevy paint color). What do ya'll think, it will be a show car. Right now its planned to go body color, but i can still change. All the hero cars in the dukes, has their engine bays blacked out.

If it werent going to be a show car I'd say black since it's easier to maintain. But for a show car, all those extra little details are what counts, so I cast vote for body color.

my personal vote is for black. If its not supposed to be a complete restoration, then go with whichever you think would complete the Gen Lee look.

Black. I was going to do mine black, but went with body color instead (white.) It' looked amazing when it was done.

After a few years of minimal driving, some fluids, etc.... looks like crap now. Black would still be killer at that point.

Have been a judge for a car show, and know several. They actually dock points for a black engine bay unless they know the car came with it, or the body is black.

Body color all the way. Since you are starting from a fresh clean bay. Just clean the bay every time you clean the body and it should stay looking just fine.

Paint your car black, then paint your engine compartment black; end of problem.
