I need some outside advice on what to do with this car. I got an 87 Z28 from a friend of mine. They couldn't get it to run and they lived in a condo. It was going to get crushed before I saved it. I thought it would make a good parts car, but once I got it running my plan faltered. Here's what it is.

87 Z28 T-top
RS wheels
factory 5sp
drum rear ( I think its open too )
gray interior (shot)
85mph speedo, full guages.
its maroon, has dents and dings
34/24 sways
blister hood

it was a 5.0 tbi
it is:
5.7L
shorty headers
holley Contender (street dominator)
weber-AFR 4bbl (650-750 I think)
mech fuel pump
the motor knocks a little

I'll try to post pics later. But what should i do with it? I want to see it gone regardless as this makes 3 camaro's on my property. If someone wants to trade me a 5sp swap for it I'd take it! It runs/drives just fine too so I could bring it anywhere. I just want your opinion before I post it on craigslist or something.

It would have to be a WCT-5 with hydrolic slave. My LT1 would eat it for lunch if it was anything less. I'm even scared that it could break the WC!

I'm not looking to buy one cause the Z28 has a T-5 already. But if someone wants to trade me the entire car for some parts I would like off it, I'd trade.

So you wanna trade? I'll even deliver!

OK well i don't think the iroc needs anything from that car that i can think of. I was just saying if you needed anything but the transmission and the pro 5.0 now. Just let me know. But no i don't need anything your car has i don't think. Smile

what do you guys think though? Should I try to sell the car or try to part it out and have it crushed? Is it worth anything? I think it was the last year of the Z28 and a limited run too. It just isn't worth anything to me and it needs to go.

Anything that runs and can be driven is worth $1000.... and I do mean anything. A lot more than a crummy T5 tranny, anyway. Sell it.

you could probably get some decent money for it, at least enough for you to buy a GOOD T5. BUT if you want to part it out and scrap it, i would be interested in the headers, front sway bar, and the rear (if its not open)

jake, what size front bar were you looking for? and did you ever get that wonderbar built? I was going to make another one for my LT1, do you want me to make an extra? It seriously takes 10 minutes to make one. And the Z is open rear. Sorry brah.

I guess I'll post it up then. See what I can get for it.

well i have a 32 and a 36 front bar right now, but Dewy suggested I give a 34 a try just to test things out and see how they feel. If you could make one for me that would be awesome, I haven't yet. My buddy with all the tools took off back to school for a few months. thanks.

I'd sell the whole car in running shape. you could get at least $800-1000 for it.

With a dented and dinged body, shot interior, and a knocking engine I would say part it out. Use it for the 5 spd swap in your car and sell off the other pieces that have some value. I'm pretty sure a NWC T5 will work behind your LT1 without blowing to smitherines.

I'd be interested in a few parts if you decide to part it.
