I have wanted to go EFI on my car for a while now, this is the cheapest option I've found. Smile

Rod, your motor is not setup for TPI. You need to go stealthram if you do it. That cam is built for too high an RPM. Plus to get the flow from the TPI you'll need a big throttle body, bigger base and bigger runners which is well over $1000 mark.

Smack!

I figured you of all people would know that I was just messing around. Laughing

My buddie bought the TPI for his Jeep project.

Does anyone know if the TPI can be made to fit the 94+ Vortec heads? My dad is interested in a setup for his truck.

yeah, i was looking into a TPI build a while ago, decided if i ever do intake work i will ditch the TPI. for the cost of building a TPI up you could have a better intake. pluss building up a TPI usualy involves siamesed runners, and those are ugly as hell. way more ugly then alternative EFI intakes. (except the super ram, it's the most ugly)

My dad is having problems with his quadrajet, holley mani, vortec headed, ram horn exhaust, custom exhaust blowing 89 chevy. Runs too lean at an idle or something. He wants something reliable that will produce good torque. Its a work truck. He wants something cheapish but more importantly, reliable.

TPI is better for a work truck. A stock L98 puts out about as much as my HSRed 350.

twilightoptics HSRed 350 = 346 HP 315 TQ
stock 1992 L98 = 245 HP 345TQ
stock 1988 L98 = 230 HP 330TQ

more torque, WAY less HP.

ooofda. I've relayed this to my dad who is starting to search for parts. He wants a MAF setup so he doesn't have to tune so much.

I'd blame the torque based more on the cam profile, valve size and head design more than the TPI itself.

Tony you're comparing Paul's rear wheel #s to stock net crank #s there too.

Laughing

am i.... thats funny. my main point was that pauls engine is WAY beyond a stock TPI setup. "A stock L98 puts out about as much as my HSRed 350." i don't know which spec he was referring too, but i think he needs a reality check, his HSRed 355 leaves any stock TPI in the dust.
