So, I am leaving the school parking lot today, and I get onto Meridian, I am talking on my phone, and I look over to see a girl in a Honda. I recognized the girl and smiled to her, and she smiled back. I then went back to my phone conversation and looked for an opening to switch lanes.

Minet or two later the car in front of me moves out of my way, so I down shift and pass three or four cars to my left so I can move into the open space up ahead of them. Signaled my turn, the hole nine yards. Then, I put the car in 5th and set cruise control. A few miles down the road, I get a Txt message from my gf, who is a few cars back with HER MOTHER. it reads:

"dont race their is a cop following"

I swear, that is the exact moment his lights came on.

I pull over, and then he is doing some wierd shizzle, motioning to the other cars, i dont even know. I am sitting there trying to figure out why I just got pulled over, I wasnt even speeding! The Honda also pulls off to the side of the road, and he comes up to her, says something, and then comes back to me and asks for my liscence and asked if I knew why he pulled me over.

"Sir, I honestly dont"

"I saw you and the Honda, you were racing, driving aggressively, not using your blinkers, switching lanes, trying to keep ahead of each other."

So, ya, I got let go with a warning, and I think he is writing a letter to my parents, but w/e.

So, as I am leaving, I put my seat belt back on, and call up Sarah, who was a few cars back and saw this entire thing, apparently the girl in the Honda was racing me, but i wasnt racing her back. Lame? Yes.

dude that sucks, reminds me of a similar event from back when i first got my white firebird (we are talking summer 2003). i am driving home from a movie along a parkway (2 lanes each way median in the middle) i leave a light and just accelerate normal. no fastness, shifting about 2-3K. my brother was in the passenger seat, and there was a blue import of some type on our right. the conversation went like this

Bro: dude are you racing this guy?
ME: no. why?
Bro: because i think he is racing you
Both: ::laughing::

Sounds like you were being responsible and keeping it cool. Wink But the police officer gave you a warning because he just wants to raise your awareness and make sure you think twice before you really do consider a street race. He actually sounds like a good cop. No foul here. Just a cop doing his best to be proactive before young drivers form bad habits. Cool

The day I get let off with a warning, I am going to be doing summer-salts down the interstate.

my list is starting to look like yours now... but I've got them in multiple states now Laughing Laughing Laughing

first ticket ~ 120mph in a 65 reduced to 100 ... court had no record. Fast forward to a few months ago... apparently I've got a warrant... thankfully, this wasn't in the Camaro ~ still needs to be taken care of

second ticket(s) ~ 60 in a 35, excessive noise, no front plate, no insurance, failure to stop (cop followed me about 2 miles before hitting his lights, trying to catch up), illegal lane changes.... speeding was deferred, noise violation paid, the rest thrown out

third ~ coming around a corner after meeting you and Mike in Oregon at CPK, a mere 4 miles from my mothers house, where the speed on highway 2 drops to 45 from 55 ... state patrolman nails me barely after the speed limit sign after taking his sweet ass time to turn around in the middle of the highway and follow me to the sign. asshat cop decides its in his best interest to give me a ticket even though I tell him I'm unfamiliar with the area and am from out of state (texas license apparently not good enough for good ole hicktown podunk new guy on the force) ... written on the ticket?

75 in a 45 ... son of a bitch.
anyone knows one of those V6 Chrysler 300's could never go 75 Laughing

still need to get that taken care of as well...

I got lucky once though... was cruising around 95 in a 65, got hit by a trooper and was let off with a warning... basically, if you kiss ass to a trooper driving a new hemi powered charger cruiser, and are driving a performance vehicle of any kind, they're a bit nicer.

I told him I was trying to get to the next town as it's illegal to relieve myself at the side of a highway.

Shocked

yes, your list is vastly more impressive... but, you've been doing it longer Wink
