i bent my rear axle last night & destroyed yet ANOTHER rim
so how hard is it?
and what years will work?
its 4 wheel disc too

Easy job. It's just nuts and bolts. You don't even need a spring compressor. Just drop it out and put the new one in. The hardest part is bleeding the brake system.

axles are a cinch. Pop the cover, remove c-clips, remove rear brakes, remove axle.

he wolfy remember we did it to my car last fall to put in the new fuel pump. Unless you did it too your tahoe then it is easier if its the back axel. but are you talking about pulling the axels out of the housing thats easy. snap ring pliers to remove the guts from the member and remove the clips and a dead blow hammer.

Disc axles will work in drum brake rears, but drum axles to a disc rear are a little different. You CAN use a drum brake axle on a disc brake rear, but you will have to mill some material off where the studs mount. Paul had to do this with one of his axles when he snapped it at the track. If you know a machinst or have acess or a lathe, this should be a realtively cheap and easy thing to do, since Drum brake rears for these cars abound in the boneyards.

i have 2 drum rear ends here already, hence why i asked

Okay if you JUST bent the axle and not the housing and if it's my old rear:

You need:
A: 26 Spline axle from a disc brake rear (preferably from the side you broke so all the torque stays in the same direction)
B: A 26 Spline Axle from a drum brake car. You need to have the axle flange turned on a lathe to fit inside the disc brake rotor.
C: Order a set of Moser 26 Spline Axles.

Take the wheel off.
Take the brake caliper off.
Take the rotor off.
Take the inspection cover on the diff off.
Rotate the pinion until you can reach the centering pin bolt.
Remove centering pin bolt.
Remove centering pin.
Push bent axle in toward the housing.
Remove c-Clip.
Remove Axle.

Installation is reverse.

Trying to show off, and backing it ass end into a curb.
