Al, your car is a LO3, it was only rated at 170hp from the factory. I am pretty sure it won't do 200hp. |

Thanks John, I already knew that and don't really expect to get 170, but I'd be happy with it. IIRC, the 3.1 V6 is rated for 140 from the factory, I'd be happy to get that too. _________________ 92 Camaro

Sounds pretty reasonable Tony.
LB985IROC, is your entire combo in your sig or is there more? Also, curious to know what the combos were on these:
1993 trans am 14.376@110mph
1985 IROC-Z 14.765@108mph
Thanks!

well those are the only f-bodys ive owned the IROC had a 350 TPI 4 bolt (unknown internals), tpi performer cam, accel injectors, granatelli AMAFS, K&N filters, edelbrock headers, cat delete, air delete, flowmaster 3.25 exhaust B&M street/strip shift kit, 3.73 gears, accel coil, accel wires, and a bored TB....thats al i can remember it had at this moment...
the 93 trans am had magnaflow exhaust catco cat, SLP headers, slp CAI
by the way the trans am time should have been faster but i hesitated and got almost a full second reaction time
....oh and i never could get the iroc to run right.... _________________ Cadillac of Bellevue

I'll say, those are terrible numbers for that combo, man. IIRC the L98 was a 2-bolt main too.
BTW, my work situation is still up in the air right now, so I don't know if I'll be able to make it down. |

Thanks LB9, I was curious because your MPH is considerably higher than the E.T. would indicate. Almost seems unpossible with those mods. Reaction time is not calculated into E.T.
Both of those MPH indicate over 400 horsepower assuming a normal heavy F-body.
What track did you run at?

yea i took those down i thought thats what theyw ere but i cant find the time slips i think iw as off on the mph i pretty much guessed so yea but the times are correct also it was not a L98 it was a 4 bolt 350 from a 69 z28 with 2.02 camel hump heads and yea it ran like crap (hense why i sold it f***ing tpi) and the borg-warner posi never locked up when i launched it _________________ Cadillac of Bellevue

not to be a Dick, but I'm glad someone called him on it. I've had a problem with those times since I first read his sig....
my fastest time EVAH on any car I've ever owned was my V6 4th gen running a 15.68 @ 89mph. Got the Time slip to prove it. And that's with a 2 1/2" Catback with a flowmaster 80 series, dual outlets... GMS Airbox Factory Air silencer deleted (heh, Home Depot PVC pipe helped as a cheap mod..), and K&N filter. I consider myself lucky if I've picked up 5hp and 8ft/lbs from stock. However, it is a 3.8 V6, and will probably not yield as much gains as an LT1 or L98 has. _________________

ok ok i found the slips for my iroc i was way off but it still ran a 15.1 not sure on the speed couldnt read it i think it says 88 mph and that was launching in overdrive with poor traction and for the record i checked the numbers and the motor i had was from a 60s camaro wiht 2.02 camel hump heads _________________ Cadillac of Bellevue

That sounds more like it.
Tanking off in OD doesn't matter. The trans is still in first with all the clutches.
Camel humps were awesome for their day! |
