so as some of you know, i just got back from Hawaii. Well, the Honolulu PD has an interesting fleet of patrol cars. here are some pics...
thats an SS if you cant see the badges
Mach 1 Mustangs
also saw a couple GT mustangs, SUV's, some random nisson sedans, and a couple BMW's (all in the process of pulling people over for speeding tickets).

I always thought that the Police officers in Hawaii had to use there own vehicles as police cars........ _________________

| I wonder if this is a tradition. I know someone who lived on Hawaii 30 years ago. Back then the police were driving Dodge Coronet 440. |

When my boat stopped at Pearl Harbor, I notced that alot of the police cars there are of the unmarked variety, except for the light bar strapped to the roof. Many of them were the nicer sports cars, some Buick GNX, etc. _________________ 92 Camaro

| I've seen the guy with the 4th gen posting somewhere. Yes, they do use their own cars as patrol cars. From what the guy said they get alot of money per year for doing it too. |

I miss home! Maui No Ka Oi!
And on Maui, all cars are the standard fleet of crown vics/SUVS. Honolulu and the waikiki strip are where the "Florida" Style police cruisers roam.

IIRC, they have to be off probation/be on the job for a certain time frame before this occurs......kinda cool but I wouldn't want the bad guys knowing what my personal car looked like. :\ |
