I think we are going to swap out rears; the other car is a bit better.
soon I will be pulling a a bunch of parts off of the other car, 87 z28 and trying to sell them.

went down and tried to put the car into my name, I gave them a receipt for $600, they said no way, car is worth 2200 to 4400, I flipped a gored.
They say to go get an estimate on whet it will cost to fix it and take it off the 2200 dolor amount.
So I went and saw a shop I know and Iam getting a quote to get a new tranni in it, that should be about 2400 bucks.
But I can't believe how tight they bare getting on sales tax.

They also said it is a Iroc, when they punched up the numbers.

Just defend your case. If you got it for $600 say the engine's got problems and such. if that's the bill of sale, they CANNOT refuse to let you license it.

ok, trying to understand washingtons laws. you showed them the recipt from the car you purchased for 600, and they said it is worth way more then that, cause they want you to pay more tax? that sucks now, but if anyone ever wrecks it and the insurance company wants to give you 600 you can tell them the state of WA says it's worth 4200.

Yep that’s about it, they said I have to provide another piece of paper from the seller, not the receipt. Something else. I don't have his number anymore anyway.
I even had them call Olympia so they could find out the previous cost of the car, (bought at auction) everything jived, but still no go.

They said, that’s the law, its a state thing. Trying to get more money. the receipt wasn't enough. Yes I HAD A COW RIGHT THERE.
Or go get a estimate of repair, so that’s what I did. I know someone in the business.

Stupid stuff, they have sure messed things up......
Hey maybe the state wants it for 2200????????

Shoot, next is emissions.....I bet it passes.

The paper work that your talking about is from the DMV. I have a copy at home. You take that to the seller and list what is wrong with the car. Well Hint hint body work trans etc.

He sign it and DMV will not give you any problems. Did it once myself.

When I get home from work will look and see what it is called.

Ya I think I remember using it one time, But I don't have this guys number anymore anyway.

I had a problem because the receipt should be just as good.
It said, it needs Lots of work, not running.
And we both signed it. Shoot that would be enough for a Judge.

Yeah thats what I did, I bought mine for 3000, but had them write a bill of sale for only 500 and say "it needs lots of work and is sold as is" I had no problems licensing it, cept the guy I bought it from wasn't actually the title holder Razz but it is in my name now Very Happy

wow. They defiately didn't make me do anything like that for any of the cars I've bought, titled and licenced (but I also live in oregon). That's a pretty screwy law if you ask me.

We don't have to worry about it in Oregon, because we don't have sales tax.

This is true.

Do they still have the RPO calculator or RPO decoder on TGO? Last couple times I've checked its not been there or not been working.

Got her done,
Cost 80 bucks.
Not including tabs.
Drove in this morning,
Pulls to the right pretty bad, need to take here in and have it checked out.
Rattles a bit as well.
Looks better than the other car, but looks can be deceiving.
Definitely needs some work.
But I guess we have a donor car.
Other motor will not be going in until something's are fixed.
