You're a machinist... you could make a frame and body without rust easier than trying to doctor that piece of crap.

My dad is a TV repairman, he has an excellent set of tools, we can fix it! /spicoli

I assume that you are the one joking Dan. If not then yes, I do have a shovel and I can help you bury that poor fitty-five.

BTW, have you ever posted pics of your '55? Don't recall seeing the car.

hey, cut what's left of that crushed roof off behind A-pillar, and at where the quarters meet the B-pillars and weld a piece of steel tubing between both sides of the windshild at the top.......and VOLA you have a convertible!!!

"ok, ok, there's some scratches, a few dents, some cosmetic stuff, maybe some fiberglass....call it what, 80 thousand? Ok, so you take 80 from 200 and we call it a deal?"

Some people have started with worse.. not many but some. Think you'd need to invest in a spray welder.

Well..........this is a "GM" site, and I said it was a 55.........so guess it could be an olds going from that, but to us "old" folks it's a 55 chevy.

Well, here are a few pics of the car as purchased. Haven’t done much to it since I’ve moved, but and going to get the body off the frame again and start on the frame, brakes, suspension, engine/trans. Gonna put a 9” in it with some 3.70ish….gears I hope. Got a track lock for it already, and a 350 roller motor out of a 90 caprice cop car. Heavy duty block, oil cooler provisions, and 4 bolt. Also got the 700R4 out of the same car for it.

Someone previously spent some big $$$ having the hood louvered and nosed to remove the bird and front emblem. I’m not sure if I’m going to use this hood or not. It kinda rains here every now and then and how the heck do I keep all that water out of the engine bay with so many holes in the hood??? Still haven’t decided on a color yet, but defiantly not yuck yellow as it is now.

Coolness! That will be a nice cruiser Dan.

Tony, if someone says '55 without a qualifier pretty safe to assume that it is a 1955 Chevy.

Sorry about the red POS in the way of the real car

Dan I think that wagon rocks. Leave the hood dude! It's not going to be a daily is it? If no, louvers rock.

I'd love a wagon. The '55-'57 sedans are played out IMHO. Good piece of history but no my thing.

That wagon would be awesome.

Maybe a hurst with fat tires and a blower.... drools.

I hope it's gonna be a daily for me, just not sure when. I'm kinda thinking a SD TPI setup cause I don't have to hang a MAF off the front of the intake. But TPI presents problems of it's own. Have to rig up a speed sensor, and bypass the VATS. I'm sure there are other considerations, but those are the two that come to mind first on my list as far as a TPI setup goes.

Get a C950 setup with wiring.

Then get the appropriate TPI Parts.

Easier to tune.
No speed sensor.
No Vats.
No problems.

Here are a couple of pics I found tonight. I'd love to be able to do the sheetmetal work like this guy does. I love the hood/cowl treatment he came up with. This is quality work to say the least.
