Just as the tilte says....who's into motorcycles? If ya got one post pics. I have been debating and finaly decided that I am going to buy a motorcycle hopefully next summer if all goes well. Im going to swap a 6spd tranny into the t/a and fix the exhaust leak and then buy a Yamaha R6 (600cc)then upgrade in a few years to the R1 (1000cc).

I'll take a cruiser for me... be it Harley (Fatboy), Honda (VTX1800), or something else...

Sure, they weigh 600 pounds give or take, but they're a lot more fun IMO and they're just more my style...

Plus, insurance is low as hell compared to the crotch rockets.

And they look a lot sexier as well with actual metal pieces instead of just plastic Twisted Evil

the paintjobs on some bikes make the bike worth having

Aaron, how much insureance do you think i would be paying for a 600cc Crotchrocket? I haven't really checked it out.

I am into any bikes.
Dirtbikes, crotch rockets, choppers.
Cruisers/touring I dont like that much, but they are still cool.

Still don't own one, but I am working on it. I wanna buy a frame/engine/tranny combo to an old harley rigid and build up a chopper in my garage. That would be a fun little project.

the insurance depends... but its probably three times as much... they've got a bad record against them

if it helps, when i was looking at buying a bike,

a 600cc GSX-R was going to run about $550/month, a 750 was about $650.

the cruisers were much cheaper, for a 900cc cruiser, it was abotu $130/month, abd about $180 for a 1800cc.

these prices of course were already on top of my $280 i pay for the camaro.

now you can see why i got the audi instead of a bike.

Anyways.. since I got this painting job in Gold Beach I am planning on getting a bike.

As much as I'd love to go get a Busa, I know I'd die in about 2 days on it... even though the first bike I rode was a modded 929RR.

I really like the Triumph TT600 and the 955i and will probably go visit the Triumph dealership in Medford.. but the inner Schultzy in me really likes the 2004 Kawasaki ZX-6RR.

Personally I would like to get a bike and was pricing them out at one point but my cousin got in a bad wreck on his crotch-rocket so to be nice to my grand parents I wont get one until their dead if I do get one.

I have a few buddies that are buying bikes real soon. One is going with the R6 like me and another is going with the Kawisaki ZX-6R? The 600cc one. Its cool to see some of you are into some nice bikes.

Joe, i would get that green ZX-6RR if i were you...well actually i would say the R1 or R6 (but im a Yamaha guy) but out of the ones you chose the Kawisaki would be a nice one to have.

ive got a 2002 Suzuki Bandit 1200s
its a combination sport/touring & its comofrtable to ride
your sit on it half between a crotch rocket & a cruiser
ill get a pic when i can
not sure about insurance, but i do know that in WA state if you own your own bike outright then u dont have to provide insurance
luckily i own mine, so i didnt insure it last year
take a look at a 2002-2004 Yamaha FZ1, its 1000cc & they are comfy to sit on.
they are a combination sport/touring have the sport looks, but you sit more upright & i think they are considered a cruiser or touring bike instead of a crotch rocket
if your gonna get a bike, get what u want NOW, dont upgrade as unfortunately bikes (excluding hogs) dont hold their value & you end up paying more for it in the long run
I woulda went w/ the Yamaha but they were only out about a year, no used models to pick from & they were about 8k new, I bought my 02 bandit for 5k used & it had 1300 miles on it was all

Well i finally got my dad to call the insurance company (the only reson he did was cuz it was my b-day and i orderd him too lol) and they said it would be $504 a year for a 2004 Yamaha R6. Thats also with full coverage so im pretty excited to save up and buy the bike in July (hopefully). I thought it would be a lot more but i was wrong.

I'd kill myself!! I'm way too competitive, and inexperienced, and those 2 in combination spell disaster! Shocked

A few years ago, I was going to get a Bandit 400, mainly because all the editorials from the guys that ride ALL the time said that it was a perfect "1st Bike".
Same frame, suspension and brakes from the racing 600 cc version, but destroked and downtuned. The main points from the writeup that I remember about being the best 1st was that the bike would help the inexperienced rider out of trouble, while the engine being powerful enough to move out when desired, was not so powerful as to get the rider INTO trouble. Brakes, suspension and everything worked so well in concert that the rider was forced (!) to get better everytime they rode!
I kinda liked that, but alas, I bought another TransAm instead!

kewl news about the bike, and of course you get the speed lecuter now...

the R6 is ALOT of bike. ALOT of bike. if you don't have alot of riding experiance be very carefull on it, things will happen fast. if you haven't already be sure to take a riders saftey course, and make sure you get good saftey gear.
