ok, the time has come.

im willing to travel, anyone have any insights on any good shops who restore classic cars. most 'body shops' will not take on such a large task as it slows down their line up of other cars. ive found a few in the area, and will be traveling tomorrow to visit them and visit owners of the cars they have worked on. found one way down in portland, portland guys, ever heard of it??? they do a couple cars that go on the auction block of barret jackson every year, pretty small shop.

i need more places to check out though.
help

thanks

I haven't seen anything like that. You could ask around at places like Austin's Pro Max.

I don't know if I could hand off anything more than simple bodywork/paintjob for a shop to do. There are too many things that I'd want my own special touch on. Smile

Did you ever get my PM?

I'm familiar with East Portland Auto Body, right off of 92nd and Stark (pretty close to I-205) I see a lot of old Mopars and Chevy's in there getting painted and detailed, most everything I've seen roll out of there seems quite nice.....there's another place that does pretty good work around where I live, I wanna say its called API or APG Auto Body, its right on the max line on about 100th and Burnside here in portland. I saw something that looked like it was show quality roll out of there about a week ago, a Lime Green Plymouth Superbird (the one with the giant spoiler), I could get back to you with the exact name and phone # of the place.

You might try Finn's FX also. That is who painted Lance's car.

yeah if you could find the exact name of that place that would be awsome.

ive talked to the owner of east portland auto body, Bill, and was quoted 2500 - 3500 dollars to cut and replace the roof on my car the right way. they are the only guys so far that said they would take on such project.
