Dear Lama,
Sasquatch sightings went to nothing the same timeframe when Mountain Man shaved his beard and moved to the city. Coincidence or not?

Dear Alone,
Coincidence or not, is a tough call to make. It also highly depends on our friends family heritage.
Sasquatch was first sighted by humans in 1811 outside of Jasper, AB, Canada. This is a mere 424 miles from the US/Canadian border in MT (by road, as the Sasquatch walks, it is actually even closer). I am not an expert in international law as it deals with the immigration laws of Sasquatch, however, it is certainly not beyond the scope of possibility for some kind of Sasquatch family immigration from Canada to Montana during the early 19th century. With the elusive and secretive nature of Sasquatch, it would likely have gone completely unnoticed, until such a point as they had an anchor baby, and would be legal to stay in the US.
An illegal Sasquatch family likely would have to stay on the move, and stay hidden. The next reported sasquatch sightings happen in the 1840's, there are two of them. Both in WA state. By this time, Sasquatch anchor babies would have allowed them to let their presence be known without repercussion. This theory is backed up by the number of sightings in WA state (very high number) vs the number of sightings in MT (very very low).
What I think we all need to ask ourselves is this. Is where our friend is *really* from!?!. Does he have a hidden past that we can only peel the surface of? I think in light of this evidence, we must ask ourselves the hard questions. Our friend might secretly be Canadian.
Cheers, eh
