I lost my front speakers somewhere. Probably threw it in the garbage by accident. Now I need new front speakers.
Any suggestion for a drop-in? Audio is not very important for this vehicle. Just need something that requires pretty much no modifications. |

Pioneer used to make some that fit perfect and sounded better then stock. Whatever you do don't buy plate speakers. The offset magnet will require some cutting to fit. When I removed my cluster awhile back I noticed the magnet hanging out now back there. lol |

How opposed are you to the idea of a kick panel setup, or to a heat gun adjustment of the HVAC?
Personally I have never found any that fit with absolutely zero mods, even ones people claimed would work. |

I had the pioneers through the 90s and they fit without any mods. Not sure on any others. |

Definitely don't want to do mods. |

I have a set of Infinity Kappa plates with 4" mids and 1" tweets that fit nicely in my 89. All I had to do was put some spacers between the plates and mounting bracket to keep the magnet from contacting the gauge pod. I can't remember what I used as spacers, maybe washers or brass bushings, but not more than 1/4" if memory serves. _________________ 92 Camaro

I have been looking around TGO and learned that Firebird has even less room for front speakers than a Camaro. Has something to do with the HVAC passages and gauge pod, or something like that. Anyway, speaker needs to be quite small.
I called up Crutchfield today and got some 4x6 speakers with teeny tiny dimensions. Hopefully these will drop in, Kenwood KFC-4675C. I guess it is time to pull the old music cassette tapes out of storage. |

I had infinity plates that didn't take any work to make fit. Definitely needed amp power though. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I've got plates in my formula, but took alot of cutting to get them in. I think they were polks. Last time I pulled my gauge cluster I found you can see the speaker in there. lol
Pioneers I had were drop ins though. |
