Most of Banana is gone, but there's still some junk left. Also, I'm getting rid of some redundant or unneeded tools.
Parts:
Glass t-tops
Cut Z28 springs
Tilt column
Clutch and brake pedals
Harness with Bussman fusebox
Big-ish box full of copper wire for automotive rewiring. All sizes and colors from battery wire down to sensor leads
Tools:
NAPA 2-ton jack. Nearly new, very nice shape
Harbor Freight screw-type transmission dolly jack
Two tall jackstands. Some parts house brand from China, I forget
Make any offer on any or all. |

Don't remember. They came off Paul's old car, which sat about right for a street car. Pics are in his profile. Banana sat real high on them due to having no weight.
If I had to guess based on past experience I would say there's probably about 3/4 coil off of them. |

3/4 cut off iroc springs not z28. Heavy car sat about 1 1/2-2" down. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

What's the difference between uric and/or z28 springs exactly?
I'm looking to lower mine a bit but nothing drastic, if they'll work for what I'm lookin for I'll take them off your hands, tack it on to my monster list of work I'm oiling up for spring time _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

Using the jack with any manual is tricky because the input shaft will never line up. At best you can put it under the tailshaft without using the strap so you're not supporting the entire case while you wrestle the input through the clutch disk. Ask me about doing that on a SM465/NP205 combo in my old K5 once! |

The cut z28's would be an improvement over my rs springs though yeah? _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

Paul was pointing out that my listing is incorrect. The springs I have are IROCs, not Z28s.
They will be a significant improvement over RS springs in stiffness and height. |

I've done it both ways. I found the jack preferable to bench pressing the tranny! _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

Last time I did it, had the trans on a plain old floor jack, got the shaft half way in, kept it supported, took the jack out then wiggled it around until it bottomed out. lol (insert skyler's mama joke here)... _________________

I did mine by using my whole body, arms up on the bell and my legs supporting/maneuvering the tail shaft then I shimmied my knees up and planted my feet, did the wiggle shake shuffle to seat it and then rolled out from under the car and proceeded to die a little next to my car lol didn't really take into account the exertion of using your arms legs and core to get a little t5 in while under the car on the ground lol
I'll stick to the pit or a lift now _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

A really good tranny jack with all the adjustments can make things alot easier. We have an old timer at work that is sweet. It's funny cause it actually has holes marked in it for Studebaker!
I haven't had a stick since I was a kid (except for the jeep now), but I did the pushup method back then. And that was with a cast iron big block 3spd trans. Not your typical 3spd saginaw either, much heavier. Not sure how that 120# geek back then was able to do the things he did! |
