I'm eagerly awaiting the revealing set for tomorrow night at 7pm ET at the Detroit auto show. Who here has been following all the rumors and leaks?

There's going to be a live feed on Autoweek.

I've been waiting. But obviously not as eagerly as you. Laughing

From the drawings and "leaked" photos I'm pretty sure I'm going to reserve my judgement until I see it in person.

Having seen it, what's everyone think? I like the aggressive-ness, almost wouldn't know it was a corvette if it had no badges, looks less "chevy" in my opinion.

Remember how GM designers made the GTO by stretching out a Dodge Neon?

Well this time they did that exact same thing to a Lotus Elise.

Rolling Eyes Dude. A GTO is a +25% Cavalier. Very Happy

I don't see lotus, but I do see 599 California. Which a lot of people are complaining about. 1. Is it really that bad to mimic traits from Ferrari? and 2. Looking at the front end of the c6, this front end seems like a very natural progression to stretch out and smooth airflow over the front end. My .02

The non-comp seats look flatter than a thirdgens. Laughing

I like it. And like Ian says is being compared to a ferrari really that unflattering? I see vette in it myself. A new design shouldnt look just like the last one.

It seems like everyone always wants to complain when the new thing isnt exactly like their old one. Which makes no sense at all to me.

The Marlin was just a shrunk-down first-gen Charger. Razz

I think it looks a like the Ferrari F12 more than anything. I absolutely love everything about the C7 corvette. The interior looks amazing and the quality is most certainly very good if the materials are anything like what their current lineup has. I also really like the rear end, I've always felt like the rear of the C5 and C6 were a little too bland. I think its kind of funny how a lot of the guys on corvetteforum.com are complaining about how it looks and that it only has 17 more hp and is only 100lbs lighter. But when designing this car they werent looking to please current Corvette owners, they were aiming at at different demographic.

Yup yup Not doing it for me, personally. I think Europe has been much more groundbreaking, in their "sport coupe" designs lately.

Looks like GM is preparing everyone for a 4 door version. Not a fan of this car, tailites look to much like one of the weak design points of the camaro and copying Ferrari is, well, just copying.

Last summer one of these past me on 405 in Kirkland, it looked odd. Like Ferrari was inspired by Lexus and Nissan. Didnt see the front, just the side / rear quarters. The car was huge, much larger than a GTR.

Not a fan of this new vette.

Ya know...I thought that until I was actually standing next to one of the hipo versions. The base model with the v6, small wheels and rounded bumpers/side skirts looks like a banana or like andre the giant sat on a 911. But the higher end version with wheels that actually fill the arches, slightly sharper fascias and the big motor in person looks pretty good actually. In pictures it still looks like a fat pig that a 12 year old went crazy with the clone too in photoshop.

While the Porsche 4 door isn't the best looking car. It is still a Porsche and if I was rich I would buy one for my wife to get groceriesin.

Engine in the front + heavy AWD car made for stupid Americans = not a Porsche.

Same problem behind the California that Dave posted further up the thread: These cars are built for rich idiots to tool around in.
