Now that I've been lurking since July, and have already bought a few things off of and/or met a couple of you. Very Happy

I've been living in Redmond for about three years now. Back in May, I decided to have a "quarter-life crisis" and picked up Murphy, my 91 Z28 (pictures and stuff in my garage here) from a guy down in Tacoma for $1500. As a police officer who pulled me over at one point quipped, he's "quite the project."

I found the Crew from a link on TGO while looking for mechanical advice for various things, and it's certainly been useful lurking around the forums and picking up parts from a couple of you--thanks all Smile

The problem is that I'm not really that mechanically inclined, and while I've managed to do a few things on my own (pull out the original and rather funky carpet, replace the rear struts and hatch pulldown, stuff like that), it seems like I'm not making any real progress on my own, and usually end up paying a local shop to do most things. I've already spent several times what I originally put into the car on repairs, and there's not really an end in sight yet. I often think the car would be better off in the hands of someone with the skills to work on it themselves...

My friends all tell me to just get rid of the car, but I'm a child of the 80s and grew up in love with these cars, and whenever I take the thing for a spin I have so danged much fun that I can't help but keep the thing a little longer, even if I'm paying through the nose for it Razz

So anyway, that's me, so hi guys, nice to meet you all Smile
-Brandon

Aloha!

Redmond is right around the corner from me. If you need a hand, give a holler! I think I may have seen your car around recently.

I would take the rest of the interior out and call it weight reduction. Cool

But I'm a crazy person.

Hey, that's my line! HAHA

Welcome dude! And hang on to that beast. all of our cars started out like yours. Some much worse! I've always said i wouldn't be half the mechanic i am today if it wasn't for my 3rd gen. I barely knew how to replace spark plugs when i first got it and now i just finished a motor swap! Keep up the good work, and i couldn't recommend a better group of guys. Thumbs up

Welcome, most of us started off at some point not knowing much and not being able to do much to our cars. Ask questions, and just start doing some stuff.
