My car is now non A/C and figured I would change out the face plate on the control panel to match. I'm looking for a white faced one. really only need the face plate, but let me know what you guys got. _________________ 1986 IROC Z-28 |

What you're looking for might be hard to find. Most non A/C control heads operate cables, not vacuum transducers, to open/close doors. You'll have to swap out the entire box under the dash to make one work. Some of the later ones I hear operate with vacuum, but hard to come by and most likely with yellow lettering. _________________ 92 Camaro

I just want to put the face plate on, the control panel will stay the same. The face plates pop right off when you remove the knobs. I looked into the complete swap and said SCREW THAT! _________________ 1986 IROC Z-28 |

The non a/c face plate has many less "selections" than the a/c version, so what you put the slider on, wont be what's actually happening.
What Al said is right. You have to swap the whole HVAC assembly mess behind the dash to get a working non a/c faceplate functional. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Dash swap is nothing. You guy's are all just pussies.
As Al said the 82-89 panels are cable-drive and white. The 90-92 panels are vacuum control and are yellow. None of them line up with the selections on the aircon panel. |

So is that your dash swap? I don't think anybody is going to argue that was easy. |

@ JC: Wheels and tires (Kumho's @ 50%) are up for sale. Shoot me an offer and we'll talk.
@ Jon: Admittedly it was more like my dash and entire interior in the dump-run pile, but yeah.
Not gonna derail this topic any further, sorry for any inconvenience to anyone. |

@ Chevysquid
I have the faceplate and all the cables, except the two "fresh air" vents that sit under the steering column. If you're interested. |
