| Does anyone know how to get the piece of ABS plastic that sits atop the door panel off without damaging the door panel itself? |

It's held on by those sheet nuts, but they're put on upside down. Almost impossible to remove without a special tool. I used a needlenose plier and got inside the recessed hex and with a lot of difficulty, was able to remove them, after a couple of turns, a regular set of pliers was sufficient. You can see the results in this thread, though I never did take pictures of the nuts removed.

| Roll the window down and take the whole panel off the car first. Makes it much easier. |
