I have new outer sweeps. Actually, I've had them for about 2 years, but never put them on. Today, I finally put them on, also did some work to the door panels. The inner sweeps were almost separated from the top caps, and the top caps were starting to separate from the door panels.

I reinforced the holes in the door panels by epoxying washers over them and using the original sheet nuts to secure them.

I drilled out the spots in the plastic where the sweep was secured to the top cap (almost all the "welds" were broken) and secured the sweep with pop rivets.

Doors are alot more solid now, I'll have to take a drive and see how the rattles are Laughing

I have a little adjusting to do on the windows now, the driver side needs to come out on the bottom to bring the top in - it likes to catch the drip guard on the T-top when fully up. I think I've found that adjustment on the passenger side and the door seems to shut pretty good, but needs a little force. More adjustments and experiments tomorrow.

I also have on the way a set of door hinge pins and bushings from TDS. Anyone up for helping out? I'm willing to travel to someone who has better facilities than me Cool

It'll mean two trips because I got enough to do both cars Cool

Found the adjustments I needed to make to the windows. I also found that when I swapped over the T-top hardware, I somehow installed the weather strip upside down Embarassed

Turned that over and WOW, the windows sealed right up when I closed the doors. Sure is nice to have about 95% of the rattles gone from the doors and a nice, solid thud when I close them Cool

It's amazing how stuff works when put together correctly Laughing

Today I got back into the passenger side and replaced the linkage for the lock mechanism. It only worked manually and I couldn't undo the bends that were in it to keep it from binding when the lock button was pushed. Put in one from a junker and now everything works as it should Cool

I still remember the look on Derek's face when he saw Schultzy close his door for the first time. His jaw just dropped and he said "Did you see that??"
It's pretty rare to have a third gen that has doors that close in a normal fashion Laughing
